Iceberg Lettuce

Iceberg lettuce is a green crop, a variety of head lettuce, developed in the 20s in California. The variety received its name from a special way of transportation. In order to preserve the lettuce fresh, it was transported interlaid with ice. This kind of lettuce has light green leaves, packed in small loose heads tasting juicy and crispy. The average head weight is 300-400 g.

Iceberg lettuce contains folic acid, vitamins C, B, K and A, choline, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, and copper.

Iceberg goes well with many foods. It is used in salads, and as a decoration for snack food and dishes.

Iceberg lettuce helps regulate the metabolism, has a positive effect on digestion, improves blood composition, and helps strengthen the nervous system due to high content of folic acid, lessens stress and emotional disorders. It is recommended to eat iceberg lettuce during difficult examination periods, and when the mental activity is strenuous.
